Octavia Wild
A European flower now rooted in England, exploring the silent tensions where the untamed inner world spills onto canvas. Octavia Wild is an abstract artist whose work is steeped in raw emotion, poetic intuition, and existential inquiry.
Educated in the classics, she draws inspiration from ancient texts, travel, and the enduring questions of philosophy. Ideas of beauty, memory, mortality, freedom, and what it means to experience the world. Octavia explores the space between the inner and outer world, where what is felt becomes visible.
Freedom. Feeling. Truth unfiltered.
Her paintings explore emotion, memory and atmosphere through colour, gesture and texture. Working intuitively, she begins without a fixed image to reproduce. Paint is layered, disturbed and reworked, allowing each painting to develop through the act of making. A mark may become a trace of movement; a colour may hold the atmosphere of a remembered place; layers remain as evidence of what came before.
Memory is central to the work. Rather than depicting a particular person, place or moment, Wild is interested in the emotional residue they leave behind, the feeling that remains after the details have faded.
Colour carries much of this language. Quiet shifts can create stillness and intimacy; deeper contrasts introduce tension, movement or uncertainty. Texture gives the paintings a physical memory of their making, while abstraction allows meaning to remain open.
Forever drawn to small fragments of beauty, she translates their emotional essence into spontaneous, intuitive abstraction.
Each painting becomes a visceral echo of experience made visible. A space for calm, complexity and deep presence within the environments we inhabit.
Her work is not about perfection.
It is about honesty.
